Our Story

About Mariri

A Space Born from Ceremony

Mariri Healing Center was born from a vision: that there could exist a place in the world where ancient healing wisdom and modern seekers could meet — not in a clinical setting, not in a luxury spa, but in the jungle, under stars, around fire, in the presence of the medicines themselves.

Nestled in the Tulum jungle, Mariri was built from the ground up with intention. Every detail of the space — from the octagon ceremony deck with its central firepit, to the natural pool, to the bamboo bungalows with their outdoor showers — was designed to return guests to a simpler, deeper relationship with nature and with themselves.

The name Mariri comes from the Huni Kuin tradition — it refers to the songs of healing, the healing force itself. It is a word that carries both the vibration of the medicine and the love with which it is offered. That spirit permeates everything we do.

Our lineages are Huni Kuin and Shipibo — two of the great Amazonian plant medicine traditions. We work in deep relationship with maestros and healers from these communities, and we hold their knowledge with the utmost gratitude and respect. Healing here is not a product. It is a relationship — between the medicines, the land, the facilitators, and you.

How We Live

In Relationship with the Land

Solar Powered

Mariri runs entirely on solar energy. We believe that how we power our home reflects our relationship with the earth. Clean, quiet, and independent.

Well Water

Our water comes from a well fed by the Yucatán aquifer — pure, mineralized, and alive. We are grateful stewards of this precious resource.

Jungle Stewardship

We maintain the jungle around us as habitat, not landscaping. The birds, iguanas, and insects that share our space are neighbors, not inconveniences.
