Yoga at Mariri is not performance or fitness — it is a daily practice of arriving in your body, meeting what is present, and cultivating the inner stillness and strength that deepens all other healing work. Morning classes are offered on our rooftop yoga shala overlooking the jungle canopy, with the sounds of birds and wind as the soundtrack.
Our classes draw primarily from Hatha and Vinyasa traditions, with influences from Yin, somatic yoga, and trauma-sensitive practices. We work with the body as a map of the psyche: where you hold tension, where you collapse, where you brace — all of these patterns carry meaning, and the mat is a place to begin working with them directly.
Yoga plays a particularly important role in plant medicine retreats. The mornings after ceremony are often rich with insight that can be difficult to hold in ordinary consciousness. Movement helps ground and integrate: what was opened in the night can be embodied in the morning practice.
Classes are open to all levels. Beginners receive attentive modifications; experienced practitioners will find depth in simplicity.
